ED Expansion at Aria Health-Frankford

ED Expansion at Aria Health-Frankford

As part of plans to double the current capacity of Aria Health-Frankford's Emergency Department, construction has recently begun to relocate Aria-Frankford's Care Management and Human Resources Departments. Construction to relocate Aria-Frankford's Physical Therapy Department and Business Offices will begin on September 9.

The anticipated completion date of construction for the Emergency Department is Spring 2013, with groundbreaking scheduled to occur in late 2011.

"Aria-Frankford currently operates lower Northeast Philadelphia's only Emergency Department," said John Quinn, Executive Director of Aria Health's Frankford Campus. "Doubling its size and the number of patient rooms is a significant investment not only in our hospital campus, but also in the broader community."

The $12 million project will renovate and reconfigure the entire Emergency Department, as a result, it will double in size and expand its number of treatment rooms from 17, to an estimated 33.
