I like the idea of trying to improve one thing per day, Maria. The small changes will certainly add up. Recently, I've been trying to win the battle with the snooze button on my alarm.

Hi, Steve - Yes, it's definitely easier to take one day at a time with resolutions. The snooze button is a common enemy for us on dark, cold Winter mornings for sure! Maria

My friend turned me on to this cool smartphone app that gives you an interactive way to manage your diet goals. I am sure there are other apps out there, but what makes this one great is that you can have friends on it and stay motivated by seeing what exercises or activities your friends are doing. I downloaded it and it is helping me make smarter food choices! Just today I saw how many calories my girlfriend did doing yoga - now I feel like I need to do a workout at home just to keep up. I do not usually make New Years resolutions, but this one is fun (and competitive).

I think that committing to a year-long resolution is often overwhelming and, as a result, not a productive action toward self-improvement. I believe that we can make greater strides if we look at one thing to improve each day. It can be something as simple as making a "to-do" list at work, adding a fruit or vegetable to packed lunches for school/work, or calling a friend that you have been meaning to catch up with recently. All of these actions are "quick wins" towards bigger, long-term accomplishments. What are some of your "quick wins"?
