November is National Family Caregiver Month

November is National Family Caregiver Month

Have you heard that President Obama proclaimed that November is National Family Caregiver month?

By definition, a caregiver is "an unpaid relative or friend of a disabled individual who helps that individual with his or her activities of daily living." The White House reports that in our country, "more than 60 million Americans take up the selfless and unheralded work of delivering care to seniors or people with disabilities or illnesses."

Caregivers come in all shapes and sizes and for most, it truly is a labor of love. At Aria Health, our Wellness &Community Center offers support groups, workshops and much more. The Wellness Center's offerings are designed to benefit not only our patients but their families and caregivers too.

On behalf of all of the caregivers at Aria Health, we encourage you to pay tribute this month to caregivers who provide for the health and well-being of their family members, friends and neighbors.
